Scott and his Scott Schmitt Racing team were back in action this past weekend at the Farmer City Raceway for two days of Illini 100 World of Outlaw Late Model Racing. Kicking things off on Friday night for the $6,000 to win Illini 100 Preliminary Event Scott would qualify 8th out of 18 Late Models in Group B. Scott qualified at a 12.473 not too far off Brian Shirley’s fast time of a 12.146. Scott would start the fourth heat from the 4th starting position. Scott would finish heat 4 in the 8th finishing position and would unfortunately scratch from the consolation event ending his Preliminary Night.
Saturday was a new day for the $15,000 to win Illini 100 Main Event. Scott would qualify 4th out of 18 Late Models in Group A. Scott’s time was a 12.439 where Tanner English’s fast time was a 12.283. Scott would start 2nd in the second heat of the evening where he would maintain his spot finishing 2nd in the heat as the top 4 transfer to the A-Main. Scott would finish 23rd in the main event that would see the promising start from the 8th position come to a halt when a turn two accident included Scott and the machines of Brent Larson, Allen Weisser, and Cade Dillard.
